Deep gold in colour with an orange rim. Salty nose, with a touch of iodine. Dry attack, fiercely acidic with burnt raisin fruit, lots of iodine and salt. Big aftertaste, sour and burnt. Not particularly attractive, this tastes like a Sercial madeira of considerable age. (Labelled as bottle #5 at the tasting.) 75/100.

I did not take notes on this but recall finding the sharp dryness quite intriguing and not unattractive. I suspect I got considerably more pleasure from this than AHB!

Tawny colour, 20% opaque. Nose very over-the-hill, with light petrol. Palate: everything gone except soft petrol.
