Can anyone tell me if its worth selling a Dows 1966 vintage port..

To determine such information we require:

Personal net worth,
current profession,
age,
any assets,
any credit cards/debts/loans,
whether you have any dependants,
and your current location

Along with that we require for the dows
bottle condition,
storage location,
when acquired.

Long story short, it might be or might not be worthwhile to sell a dow 1966.

Can you please tell us where you live, how many bottles you have, what condition they are in and how they have been stored?

Dow 1966 is a great port. Whether and how to sell will depend on where you are and how many you have to sell. If you can give us a bit more information we should be able to give you a bit more help.

Hello I have one bottle to sell, live in Bournemouth, Dorset.. Bottle has been stored in a cupboard in the office and good condition to me.. Was my Grandads and I don't drink port... Thanks

Your bottle can be purchased from reliable retailers at around £100-120. Our usual advice to private sellers is that you could perhaps get half of that amount either by selling it at an auction, to a retailer, or to an individual. The reason why you won't normally get the full retail price is because buying privately is always a bigger risk to the purchaser and bottles such as yours have rarely been stored in ideal conditions. In a cupboard in an office is not an ideal place to keep old Vintage Port as it is likely to have suffered from temperature fluctuations and generally be too warm.

If you know anyone who drinks Port I would suggest you give them a nice treat by opening it and sharing it with them on a special occasion.
