Very deep red, an astonishing 80% opaque. Smelling to be in early maturity with modest fruit and crushed beech nuts. Lovely texture on the palate, with lovely balance. Sweet maraschino cherries supported by surprisingly persistent dry tannins. Big on the aftertaste, huge length dominated by black chocolate. Really good, a fine addition to a cellar. 94/100. Drunk at the BBR Port Walk on 28 November 2013.

This and the 83 Grahams were the first VP's that made me sit up and say that there is something to this vintage port thing. Thank you for the reminder to look out for more.
