1975 Ayala Champagne

My first experience of Champagne with real bottle age - and both I and EAB were impressed.

Deep yellow, very deep wine on the nose - surprisingly aromatic. Deep wine flavours on the palate, livened by a gentle mousse bringing lots of nuts and lemon acidity. Quite dry and bitter on the aftertaste, then a long and terrific finish. 88/100. Drunk 28-Dec-13 at this dinner.

I like this sort of wine/champagne; old champagne has class but is also special. Reminds sometimes to good dry/sweet Sherry. You make your own mind if you like it. I do
