I strongly feel that we should NOT have a poll. Any suggestion of the planned incessant interrogation of members of would transform its charming and clubbish atmosphere into.. well, into the same boring rubbish as the rest of the internet.
I'm sure that others will back me up on this. I'm happy to poll them to establish same.

I’m married, so I must defer to her superior wisdom, character, and general being-the-boss-ness. That was my vote.

Undemocratic rubbish. Utter rubbish as well. It isn’t by accident that Port isn’t grown in China.djewesbury wrote:I strongly feel that we should NOT have a poll. You quoted selectively. I said I was happy for a poll to be taken to affirm that we didn't want polls to be taken.

It sounds as though you had a pre-poll poll to determine whether to have a poll on whether we should have polls...

Only if it's a stripper pole.

Re: Should we have a poll?
Definitely not. The current situation in eastern Europe proves beyond doubt that giving people the impression that their vote actually matters is a very dangerous thing.

No! How could you even suggest such a thing? Don't you care about the planet at ALL?! Archiving of additional polls would cause further CO2 emissions due to additional hard disks being manufactured, increasing global warming and eventually causing the planet to explode. No to Polls!

Or a fireman's pole. That would be the preferred method of entering the TPF cellar. An elevator would then be needed for exit, since climbing a fireman's pole while carrying a case of 1896 Dow would risk damage to the Port.mosesbotbol wrote:Only if it's a stripper pole.

A poll would be quite useful for "organisation" threads where someone suggests a range of dates for a tasting and others then click the one or more dates on which they can attend. Although things work fine without that at the moment.

Voting so far has not been conclusive.

Re: Should we have a poll?
That's a sloppy way to gather consensus. We're going to need a poll to determine whether or not there is sufficient agreement.djewesbury wrote:I agree with this.jdaw1 wrote:Voting so far has not been conclusive.
