Aldi port (Maynard's)

Has anyone tried any of Aldi's ports? They have a 10 year old tawny, an unfiltered LBV and a vintage port, all marketed under the Maynard's brand. Is this brand a makey up? I've bought their wines and some are very good.

Maynard is a very old brand that fell out of use for many decades. A few years ago it was revived by a consortium that includes Cristiano Van Zeller (formerly of Noval and now Quinta do Vale Dona Maria). Their Vintage Ports have appeared at a number of trade tastings in recent years and are good solid stuff. I have not tasted their other styles so can't comment but they are certainly serious producers and not just a made up brand.

Something is wrong. German Aldi just has some very poop stuff from Krohn for 4,95 EUR.
I have seen the Maynard Ports at Aldi EIR, which were a 10y old and a Vintage Port 1989.
For the 10y old Alvaro van Zeller is responsible for the blend.
Best

I've just bought a bottle of Krohn 2005 LBV, bottled unfiltered in 2010 as an experiment - I hope that not everything they make is poop!
Wonder what the Maynard 1989 is? As far as I know, no port was made by the consortium in 1989 (I don't think they formed until 3-4 years ago).

There is a producer that is rumoured to have made over 1,000,000 bottles of VP from the 1989 vintage. Perhaps Maynard bought some of the excess and sold it as its own?
