Wednesday 23rd April 2014, the day before the BFT, the day after A Flight of 1966, and the same day as a vertical of Sandeman arranged by Stevens Garnier (busy week), folks gathered in The Bung Hole for 1960 versus 1963.

Re: 1963 Fonseca
25% opacity, rich red brown. Mint, but quite a harsh nose, some rubber - TCA? Minty menthol in the mouth, with quick heat and a nice long finish. Slightly spirituous finish, but not massively. Incorrectly guessed to be F60.

Lovely nose, sweet and attractive. Bitter core with tannins still clearly apparent; big and deeply flavoured. Really fine finish. 93/100.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.
2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports.
