The first vintage overseen by Luis Sottomayor. Some fruit shows on the nose, but hints that it is closed and will show more with time. The nose is restrained but complex. Neutral - even hollow - entry with hints of fruit. Powwerful tannins and dominating acidity. This is so out of balance that it is difficult to predict its future. For drinking today, this would be a poor choice but it shows all the components to be much more impressive. 84/100. Drunk 23-Apr-14.
