On opening a bit hard, some iron and tannin, tasting more like a young claret than burgundy. Quite dark in colour, rather a worrying brown for a youngish wine. An hour open softens this and the iron recedes but not the tannin, with food it comes alive seeming richer and sweeter. Still not much length even for a village wine but quite typical Vosne, feels a bit overworked. A very pleasant drink but I'm not sure I could recommend it given the price asked. Not tried a Rion wine before, will I rush out to try more? Probably not. Emma loved it but she was a bit sloshed to start with, she went on about cherries and immediately said 'burgundy' when she put her nose to it. I often think she has a better palate than me.
