Is LGTrotter a dog?

Is
LGTrotter a dog?
He is well read — perhaps better read than Plato’s bears. He professes interest in Port, but 53% of his posts are
1?@aT. Does he really exist?
Indeed, is he a regular on
ThePortForum? No, is he a different

regular? Has somebody—cue spooky music—a second identity, with whom to argue and to agree. (With whom to drink doesn’t count.)
Like any good scientific hypothesis, it is falsifiable. If the real
LGTrotter were to come to a tasting, and we do
organise some tastings, then this could be proven false.
Until when, it must remain a plausible hypothesis.

Quiet. We're not blown yet. In your bed.

If Owen (aka LGTrotter) would attend a tasting in person, I would fly in from Germany to meet him. I hope this promise doesn't repel him, though.

If Owen can attend a tasting I might have to go and see my great great aunt in Swindon. We can't be in the same place at the same time.

I would wear my blue helmet at this tasting to separate the two opposing sides. As a foreigner I would really try to be impartial.

The intervention of the UN is a kind offer. I merely meant that we are like Clark Kent and Superman.

Regardless of whether or not he is a dog, and the hints about shenanigans in Latin America suggest he might be, how do we know his real name is Owen?
Intrigue upon intrigue.

Hence I was careful to describe him as

Who is Clark Kent and who Superman? Don't you think that this is conceited on both sides? (Fastens his blue helmet and ducks for cover.)

I suppose that I did suggest that there might be an intimate relationship between
LGTrotter and another TPF regular. Perhaps I now regret that suggestion.

Guys, guys, don't crowd me...Locks of my hair are available to subscribers.
And what about Oxford Best? Nobody's pestering him, with his cavern of perfect provenance '27s. No, you lot want me to spend a fortune on getting to London (can't do standard anymore) to guzzle the dwindling remnants of my rubbish from the eighties! Still what can't be cured must be endured. But I warn you all, I do a better scintillating on the web than I do in real life. And I don't read half as much as you think I do, but thank you, I think this must be taken as a token of twisted male affection.
But work is complicated and I'm skint. Please, for the love of God, don't suggest coming here, I'd die of it.
I, Owen Carroll, do solemnly swear to put myself down for a port forum tasting within one year. I have kissed the book (an old copy of 'Razzle').

Does this mean that, despite being a pauper, you travel First Class or you don’t travel? If so, that is splendid stubbornness.

Another nugget about our secret spy.

I noticed the it because being young and impressionable I was struck by it being older than me.
DoB ≥1966, and probably >1966.

I am pleased to report that LGTrotter is not a dog.
But no one expected a hairy, octogenarian Danny Di Veto with bells around his knees and elbows.
You just never can tell what is behind an online personality.

Another child of ’68, and not a dog.

Jealousy, as I have observed before Derek, is never an attractive quality. Am I to be blamed for my clean living and moral rectitude?
What a treat it was to meet you, one rather odd side effect is that I now hear the voice when I read the posts. This is particularly discombobulating in Julian's posts whose distinctive prose leaps all the more clearly from the page. It's like he's in the room with me. Eek!
Now safely back in my basket with my favourite squeaky toy.

Yes. You are setting a despicable example to today’s youth.

The proximity of these two remarks suggests a possibility which I hereby deny.
Squeak!

I agree strongly with one part of your post in particular.
It was a pleasure and a treat to meet. I hope we meet again soon. Northern Ireland awaits you.

A little late, but nonetheless heartfelt: It was indeed a pleasure to meet you Owen and also the "usual suspects" of TPF (Julian, Derek and Alex). I hope we meet again soon.

André, if an opportunity presents itself to come to London again soon (do you have any budget for conferences?), please avail of it and I will take responsibility for badgering Owen to come up.
