This is a dry village wine from one of the leading Rheingau producers (according to the Gault & Millau wine guide).
Pale yellow, smells of grapefruit and a little bit of petrol, quite full bodied, dry, but not too dry and definitely not tart, doesn't have much acidity though, grapefruit and some petrol in the mouth, in the aftertaste there is grapefruit and a slight nutty flavour, a good long finish of around 20 to 25 seconds, the Gault & Millau has rated this wine with 86 points and I think they're right.
This is a very good introduction to dry Rheingau Riesling.

That sounds very interesting; despite no mention of minerality I think means I should add this one to my list for next order, since my wife and I seem to favour the dry Rheingau Rieslings.

Petrol? 2011? I thought you told me only old Rieslings should show petrol??
