AHB and DRT are now stranded at Porto airport due to hostile French resistance.

What should we do?

We presumed it would be us that would be stranded, courtesy of Michael O'Leary, but we have touched down at Stansted. Sorry to leave you on the field buddy.

My Winecheck (TM) is calling to me to unzip it and open one of my halves of Kopke 84 Colheita to honour two comrades who have made such a great sacrifice.

Are you maintaining radio silence or have you been wiped out?

Their bird is expected down on the runway in 20 minutes. Come on everyone, all we can do now is wait, and pray.

We are alive! We made it back despite those pesky French.

The support from the home front was greatly appreciated in our hour of need.

Sorry, one small Mosquito is still circling and running out of fuel...

Arriving bright and early to check in for Belfast from Stansted, after a comfortable night at the White House in Takeley, I was told that the flight was overbooked and there was no room for me. I have had to buy a new ticket with Aer Lingus from Gatwick later today. Waiting to hear who's paying for the taxi.

We are in a race to get to Gatwick from Stansted, which has now been abandoned as hopeless.

Already one mode of transport has failed - the taxi laid on for me by Easyjet gave up at Loughton and said that the M25 was stuffed both ways, and I was better off getting a tube.

Hauled my bags up and down the steps of the Underground.. On the Gatwick Express now awaiting departure.. What (more) can go wrong..?

A single tear falls onto the silver framed photo.

When will he ever be home?

I hear there are yellow ribbons around the trees of Belfast.

I am boarding a plane for Belfast City, finally! I passed the boarding gate for the TAP flight to Porto. I was tempted.

All bottles that were meant to survive, survived! And when I got home I discovered the Wine Society had called by and left something nice. Now to craft that letter to Easyjet..
