This is a dry single-vineyard Riesling from the Nahe region. My Gault&Millau guide tells me that Tesch is a VDP-producer of middling quality, but one with a good price-quality ratio.
pale yellow, at first this smells very mineral with some melon and some herbal note (lovage?) in the background, the longer the wine is open, this herbal note gets stronger and in the end dominates the nose, quite a full body, dry, but not in a tart way, not much acidity, in the mouth melon and the herbal note, a little harsh aftertaste with melon and this lovage note, a finish of sufficient length (about 10 seconds), this is really a well-made Riesling and truly a bargain, the herbal note is not my cup of tea though
