This picture from JDAW's recent trip to France caught my eye. The port is produced by a company that I didn't recognise - CCVP or Companhia Comercial de Vinhos do Porto.

Having done a bit of research, this seems to be the legal entity behind Christie's Port, based out of Quinta Dona Mafalda, using the Castelinho (wine) and Butler Nephew (port) brands and with a tasting room right on the waterfront right next to (and probably confused by many with) Vasconcellos.

If anyone spots own label ports produced by this company other than the one shown above, please post here. I get the impression this is a relatively small company but I would be interested to see how well they manage to get into the own label market.

Do they do business or operate their tasting room like Vasconcellos?

They are linked with Vasconcellos. I was with Stephen Christies in June there and got some info from him. Butler Nephew is fully speciallised on Tawny Port, no Colheitas.

Currently they do have a Reserva, 10, 20, 40 and a 10y old White. They plan to release a 30y old Tawny, too, that I have tasted, but not officially seen. Very good quality Port, moderate prices.

If you need anything else, let me know.

Best
