I thought you might all find this usefull on Wednesday night around 8pm
Croatian Version:
Lijepa nasa domovino,
Oj junacka zemljo mila,
Stare slave djedovino,
da bi vazda sretna bila!
Mila, kano si nam slavna,
Mila si nam ti jedina.
Mila kuda si nam ravna,
Mila, kuda si planina!
Teci Dravo, Savo teci,
Nit' ti Dunav silu gubi,
Sinje more svijetu reci,
Da svoj narod Hrvat ljubi.
Dok mu njive sunce grije,
Dok mu hrasce bura vije,
Dok mu mrtve grobak krije,
Dok mu zivo srce bije!
English Version:
Our Beautiful Homeland
Beautiful is our homeland,
O so fearless, o so gracious,
Our fathers' ancient glory,
May God bless you, live forever!
You are our only glory,
You are our only treasure,
Yes, we love your plains and valleys,
Yes, we love your hills and mountains.
Sava, Drava, keep on flowing,
Danube, do not lose your vigor,
Deep blue sea go tell the whole world,
That a Croat loves his homeland.
When his fields are kissed by sunshine,
When his oaks are whipped by wild winds,
When his dear ones go to heaven,
Still his heart beats for Croatia!
...and you can make a cut-out of this to put in your window...

As long as they let us win then I will be happy to oblige.
If we win, we have to host it, and pay for hosting it.

No! If we win, we have to host it, and pay for hosting it. Terrible outcome.

Julian,
I think you may be getting mixed up with the Eurovision Song Contest! An equally admirable trophy, but not with the same result.

Read in haste; repented at leisure. Whoops!

Derek,
Try and stop laughing now. From the other side of the world I gather that England is now in mourning, shocked that the divine right of the nation that invented the game will not be participating in the European Finals.
I also understand that Steve McClaren is not resigning and will therefore need to be paid a large sum of money to buy him out of the rest of his contract.
No doubt we will then witness a long drawn out betting frenzy of speculation over the person who will become the next England manager. I will not be putting my name forward.

What makes you think I would be laughing?
- Was it the bit when your new Goalie threw the ball in his own net?
- Was it when your defense stood aside and let a Croatian sub have a free shot at goal from 40 yards out?
- Was it watching Gary Linekar, Ian Wright and Alan Sh-e-e-e-ra-a-ar look like they wanted to throw themselves from the top of the stand?
- Was it when Steve McClaren said "I'm not resigning. After all, I am the man who is accountable for us not qualifying"

- Or is it because Conky sent me a text saying his computer is broken so he can't see this thread

The worst bit for me was that I actually had a ticket for this match but decided not to go

All I can say is that I am very glad that this game was played at 4am, local time to where I was and that I couldn't be arsed to set the alarm and watch the game - although the German I was travelling with did!?
I found out the result when I got up at 6:30am and tuned to BBC Radio Five and caught their late night show where they seemed to be in shock that England had not won by divine right.
Glad I follow a losing cricket team who win occasionally rather than a losing football team who seem to have a nation expecting them to win every game.

Heh! There's a minor profanity that slipped through the admin net.

It's OK, Alex, the word
England is not yet banned on this site

How can you take seriously, a Scotsman who uses the word defense, instead of defence!!!
You'll be playing Soccer next and having a Beckham tattoo!
If I find the Bugger that ballsed up the maintainance contract on Hadrians Wall....
