RP80, decanted 13:00. Very dark red, 90% opaque. Nose had plums — oldest of that evening’s RPs to have plums. Palate thickly sweet, plums again, and some heat.

Decanted 5½ hours. 80% opacity, dark red, purple rim. Fresh nose, but slightly vegetal. In the mouth, fruit, slightly light given the deep colour, short, tannic finish - a little simple. Perfectly nice port, but could it improve? Probably. And it doesn't feel like it will fade for a long time yet.

Deep ruby, wide pink rim, 60%. Very plummy nose for a 34 year old wine but marzipan is growing. Super soft grainy mouthfeel; then tannins (soft) and a little greenness. There was a late fieriness, but not when I returned to this later.

Very dark red, opaque centre and the rim barely transparent. A wonderful but delicate nose of complex fruit and elegant perfume - really quite lovely. Sweet soft entry, with smokey black fruit and soft charcoal tannins that deliver a nice palate presence, quite big and tingling. A lovely smokey dark aftertaste, then a long fruit and dark chocolate finish of good length. This is a nice port.

Ervamoira had been acquired for this vintage and grapes from Ervamoira were included in the blend. Ervamoira now includes block planting of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Coa, Touriga Franca, Barrocca and Roriz. 90/100. Drunk 21-Oct-14. Decanted 8 hours.
