Haven't been drinking much port lately

My port consumption has been drasticly down for a couple of weeks now, and it probably will be for some time. The reason is that LadyR and I will be moving to Oman somewhere next February / March, and will stay there for four years.
We've arranged good offsite storage for all wines and ports that we don't intend to drink in the coming four years, but we have some serious drinking to do before we leave. We can't take much with us, and we have at least 50 bottles that we don't want to cellar for a long time. And almost none of those are port.... I must say that it's actually really good fun drinking all those wines. In the last week we've had a Didinger Spätlese Trocken 2005, Crasto Reserva 2000, Jaboulet Hermitage Pied de la Cote 1999, and some more.
In the meantime I'm really looking forward to the Christmas offline, that should bring up the Port consumption a notch!
Now, if I can only find a good address for Port in Oman...

I suspect that when you manage to return to the Netherlands via the UK every 6 months that we will do our best to help you to recover from your Port desert as fast as we can.

That's actually a very good idea. We do get an allowance for several returns a year to the 'homeland'. No one says that we can't plan a stopover in London...

Is alcohol prohibited there?

Alcohol is not prohibited, but it is restricted. You need a permit to buy it for home use, and it is only sold through a couple of outlet stores. You can also buy alcohol in hotels, at the airport and in certain restaurants.
Shipping wine into the county is apparently restricted to very small quantities. That's why we are busy drinking everything we do not intend to keep for four years.

Does that mean you have to take a gamble by commiting adultery whilst drunk before having to worry about the stiffer penalty?
