Bought a few years ago, first bottle brought out of storage in order to test its evolution.

40% opaque, light ruby core which fades to the rim. Nose has red fruit notes of strawberry and cherry, charred oak (rather a lot) and spices, all of which are carried onto the palate. Tannins very much present but not intrusive, which bodes well for the future. Fairly young still, SuBo [sic] not yet present. Try again in early 2017.

Overall a very well made wine. Not the most complex perhaps but plenty there to keep one's interest piqued. Went very well with my bar steward version of Petit Salé aux lentilles. Very much a cold weather wine.

Actually it was 1983, and it was a fortnight in summer. This goes to prove that my intensive training in throwing the enemy off the scent was extremely effective.
