On Wednesday 29th October 2014 some obvious suspects (JDAW, DRT, MPM, THRA, IDJ, BMHR, RLC) gathered to test the Board Room in Davy’s at Plantation Place (Mincing Lane EC3R 7BD, +44 20 7621 9878, streetmap.co.uk, maps.google.co.uk, bing.com).
Recalling that we held a small vertical of Croft at The Bung Hole on Monday 16th January 2012, originally for the purpose of testing the then-new location (planning and arrangements, review of the evening as a whole), this Croft theme was repeated.

Re: 1970 Croft
Decanted 3 hours. 30% opacity, warm red-brown. Menthol and tobacco on the nose, which was fresh and clean. Wonderful smooth entry, tongue tingling, syrupy and chewy. Red fruit & orange, long, long aftertaste. Superb port. It took a while for this to wake up in the glass. My WOTN before I deducted a point and donated it to the 27. I should have deducted a half point for the 27.

Cr70. Red, slightly dark, 50% opaque. Nose slightly closed, with red cherry. Palate big, lots of red cherries, and soft. Delicious mature Port.
