The neck label bore the name of a Dutch shipper (Dirk read it out for us), but it was concluded that this was Oporto bottled.

This was a mid-deep chestnut, with a simple woody nose. Rather sweet. I found this somewhat medicinal - a little like cough syrup - but I don't think anyone agreed.

Light orange in colour, 10% opaque. Slightly oxidised nose, but nicely dusty fruit full of raisins and some countering acidity. Sweet and soft entry, but with a slightly oxidised palate. Mature finish with lovely complexity. Sweet fruit, perhaps a little simple, but with some sugary soft milk chocolate on the finish. 87/100.
