Today, I bought a bottle that brought my cellar of vintage port to exactly 2000 bottles..
Entering this historic purchase on to my cellar spreadsheet, the average age of the bottles in my cellar rose by 25 days, to exactly 23 years.
Now, which classic vintage was this bottle from?

2007 â€‟ (2000Ô”23 â€‟ 1999Ô”(23â€‟25/365)) = 1847
Oh that’s easy. 2007 â€‟ (2000à 23 â€‟ 1999à (23â€‟25/365)) = 1847. According to Broadbent a ★★★★★ vintage. Which house?

I apologise for the error
Idiotically, having read a sequence of posts started by AHB, my little brain still had him as the author. I apologise for the error, and instead accept your invitation — knowing full well that it isn’t your only bottle of such antiquity.

Actually, it's now my only dead cert pre-phyll bottle - I have an 1875, identified only as 'port' on the capsule, and an ancient sticker on the base bearing the legend '1875' - and also some very ancient unknowns, one of which will see the light of day in the next week..knowing full well that it isn’t your only bottle of such antiquity
