1980 Gould Campbell

Post by jdaw1 »

A fantastic Lunch, on Sunday 15th February 2015, at Simpson’s-in-the-Strand, Chris Doty providing the bottles blind.

This is bottle IV, later revealed to be a half of 1980 Gould Campbell.

GC80, half (bottle IV). Dark red, 70% opaque. Palate had bright green notes, good structure, mid weight, and long. Mint as well as green. The fruit was darker than that in bottle V.

The green nudged me to Smith Woodhouse. General development consistent with a 1977. Useless guesses.
