F85, from imperial. Old-style F85 colour, 80% opaque. Palate with lots of big dark plum fruit. Heat mid-palate. But simpler than on the day of opening.

Deep red and 95% opaque. Dark and brooding nose, restrained yet still full of sweet, black fruit. Reluctant entry but then dark, sweet cherry and dry (and gently tannic) blackcurrant fruit that blossoms on the palate. The tannins are hidden by the sweet fruit and are gentle and chocolatey. The aftertaste is fragrant and wonderful and gives a finish that lasts forever. Stunning port that will get better as it develops more complexity with age. 96/100. Decanted 2½ days.
