My dear friends,
As a noob I am still wondering what the difference is between an Recolté wine and a vintage wine. I have a few bottles which are marked with the indication Recolté. There are different opinions what this really is. Some say it's a colheita and others are saying it's a vintage. Btw, recolté also means vintage if I understand correctly.

Who will give the answer?

I do not know the answer but I think 'recolte' refers to the 'harvest' or 'crop'. While this is sometimes given as 'vintage' I think there is a slight difference.

Where did you buy these bottles? I have not seen 'recolte' on port bottles and would be interested to see them. Any chance of a picture?

I have three of them . 2x Hooper's Recolté 1937 and 1x Companhia Velha Royal Oporto 1944.
The 1944 image is on my Facebook and is open to everyone. Of the Hooper's I had six and drunk allready four of them. Remarkebly good I have to say

I've mostly (exclusively??) seen that term on Colheita's (single harvest Tawny's). Though given the douros past it wouldn't surprise me to see it on other types of port.

The explanation is that it is your iPhone.

Recolté is used in France for Colheita.
