As this evening was free, and as the date helps to bridge the otherwise long gap to the end of the Summer and more frequent tasting events, some of us may well gather with some port.
Where: The Green Room,
The Boot & Flogger , 10-20 Redcross Way, London SE1 1TA, tel +44 20 7407 1184
(streetmap.co.uk , bing , maps.google.co.uk )
When: Monday 27 July 2015
What: Bring a blind bottle to share
Attendees:
MPM ;
JDAW ;
AHB ;
IDJ ;
NO;
CPR ;
THRA ;
Possibly a guest of JDAW.
Foiled from attending by colluding life coaches and PAs:
DRT .
Current draft of the
food order ,
Current draft of
the placemats (and of
the parameters by which made ).

I have a free evening that week, and so I thought I'd see if anyone else was free and wanted to share some port! I already have a quorum...is anyone else around?

I shall be sunning myself on the Isle of Skye that week sipping gin and tonics whist watching sun-kissed damsels parading in their finery around the swimming pool.
Or making a snowman.
Either way I am sorry to say I cannot join you.

MPM: I hope so. Please add me as tentative, at least
pro tem .
DRT: you know
what to do in Skye . In December.
Blind or sighted? If blind I’ll declare a “JDAW”.

Can you explain what declaring a "JDAW" means? Then I'll decide if blind or not!

It was facetious. If sighted one would declare a particular shipper and year. So I tried to reverse the idea. Which failed.
Probability amended — facetiously.

Having checked the diary it appears that 27th July is rather unexpectedly not one of the days in August that I shall be on the Isle of Skye.
I'm in!
I declare a DRT.

But I do plan to be swimming in
something during my trip. Responsibly, of course.

Yes, this has been suggested nicely in advance to likely ensure that a pass out is conferred-put me down.

I have in my possession a bottle of potentially fine brown sticky stuff that is to be served to "The Team" at an appropriate event. If Phil W joins this tasting I will bring it along as a bonus bottle so that we can take advantage of the summer weather and chill it to serve as a nice aperitif.

Is there any interest in inviting
Nick Oakley to this tasting?

Nick Oakley is delighted to accept our invitation and will join us on 27th July.
Nick has declared to me what he will bring 3 bottles. I know what these are. Should I share or would people prefer the ports Nick brings to be served blind?

Nick is right handed - but you probably already knew that from his previous (near) visit in 2013.

My permission is at risk of being rescinded. Sorry — but it is.

That would be a shame given Nick Oakley was looking forward to meeting you and is making the trip in from Colchester. But if it is rescinded, that can't be helped.

Just realised this is now 6 days away - we'd better order some food. Please confirm your requirements from
the menu .
Julian, Alex, Ian, Charles, feel free to simply say "same as for Tuesday the 21st" if that is convenient!
