A theme suggested by Flash: the ‘Sweet-Spot Vintages’, being 1966, 1970, and 1977, in each of Dow, Graham, Taylor, and Warre. So on Wednesday 17th June 2015 we gathered at Davy’s Woolgate.

T77 (originally ‘I’). Glorious bright red, 50% opaque. Nose of bright raspberry. Palate dry, with heat, with lots of red berries. Some spearmint. Very lovely — needing more time.

Mid red in colour with minimal bricking, 70% opaque. Soft and gentle strawberries on the nose with a touch of harshness. Sweet fruity entry with a modest palate that is youthful and lively. Fruity, with a touch of marzipan that gives good complexity but is modest in body and weight. Wonderfully fragrant finish, delicate and delicious that morphs into a delicate chocolate. Served blind, guessed to be Warre 1977. 88/100.
