1970 Santos Junior in magnum, consumed Thursday 14th February 2008, and from the collection of Jay, who did double-duty as our excellent host.
Pink and cloudy. “Another light nose, with an off note I didn’t like.† To taste “heat again. Short. Very light.† It improved in the glass over an hour, enough to raise the initial 1/1 Uncle Tom Score to a glorious 2/1.
Eric D really liked it, finding caramel on the finish. Having expressed his enthusiasm, Jay promptly offered to sell him several magnums — an offer he didn’t seem to pursue.
