Indeed; I was trying to extract the Quintas from the list (most of those without a reference are shippers) and attempting to confirm if I had missed any.

Certainly, though shouldn't Morgadio da Calçada be calcada rather morgadiocalcada since the name of the estate is Casa da Calçada? And should Quinta do BragÃ o be bragao rather than andresen?

In the Date index Quinta do Bomfim is prefixed "Dow" but Quinta Senhora da Ribeira is not.

Something has gone badly wrong in the index.

This is indexed as Warre 2008 in the date index and there are lots of the 2008 TN's that I posted that are not in that index. TV and TTF being two examples.

I’m not sure if this will be caught by the planed bug-fix but in the alphabetical list, this Fonseca 1977 is indexed as a Roeda ’77.

I am not sure if this is a new error, but the alphabetic index now classifies a lot of bottles as Unknown which appear to otherwise be well-described. It appears that the only ones where the shipper is, in fact, unknown from the thread title are those reviews by RMW on the 21 Jun 2007; the NV bottle and those <1924. Perhaps, also, as a new feature, an unclassified category should be added for the first two of those categories?

Additionally, in the date-index, the majority of the unknowns appear to be aged tawnies. It would be nice, if possible, if they could be classified together in their proper sections but I am not sure if the technology allows this.

A suggested improvement to the TN index:

Crusted ports currently do not carry a style designation in the date index. See the entry for Niepoort Crusted 2007 TN posted on 18 Dec 2010 as an example. The index entry being "Niepoort: 18 Dec 2010".

Could this be "Niepoort Crusted: 18 Dec 2010"?

A major upgrade which might be quite nice would be to fish out the LBVs, Crusteds, Colheitas and Garrafeiras (do we have any Garrafeira tasting notes?) into separate date-ordered categories, though I'm not sure how much work this would be to do.

Jacob: I am always have troubles with incomplete calculations. That’s because I am doing this in a spreadsheet.

The spreadsheet is laid out as various tables, in a manner resembling the tables of a relational database. It is how I build spreadsheets. Would it be sensible for Head Productions to en-database this spreadsheet?

Hmm...I’ve been looking at the back-up of the spreadsheet which you sent me some time ago but can’t quite figure out where this bug lies: is it in pulling out the vintage, shipper and type from the thread title or generating the lists for publication?

A minor grumble:

On every page of

there is a logo followed by the link "ThePortForum.com" in the top left corner. The only exceptions to this are the alphabetically and numerically sorted TN Index pages, which have the logo as the link instead of the words. Can this be fixed on the index pages, please, so that we have consistency?

That is strange

I am waiting on our Vice President of Automagical Technology Solutions producing a version of the program that creates the TN index in fewer than 14 hours processing time. Hopefully once we have that we can find out why that one, and probably others, was missed.
