Provided by the kindness of Sean C. Decanted for 4 hours before drinking. Pale colour, pale centre, very light edge. Ripe plums cut in half and stored in syrup dominate the nose. Light into the mouth with lots of fruit in the mid-palate and plenty of liveliness that will keep this port alive for a good few years yet. Good length. A good showing of a fine and mature port that is drinking nicely right now. 91/100. Drunk on 8/2/08.
Reading Roy's Boston Blog on FTLOP, I found that this was a bottle that he brought with him from Seattle. Roy - thanks for bringing a birth year port for me. I always enjoy drinking ports from 1963 for the extra fun of having a port almost exactly the same age as me!
