A very large tumultuous sort of wine. Everything present to excess, fruit, tannin acidity and alcohol. Rather too unresolved to give a clear indication of future development, but there certainly is an upside. Astounding value for money if you have the patience to wait but overwhelming and a bit shambolic at present. All the elements of good port are here but none of them are talking to each other at the moment. At a tenner a bottle from Waitrose I will try to hide a few away to see how they get on.
