Served in business class on BA0056 from Johannesburg to London Heathrow. The menu stated that Warre 2009 (filtered) LBV would be served but the bottle revealed the port to be Six Grapes.
Deep vivid ruby red, opaque. Gently perfumed nose with blackcurrants and rose petals. Powerful acidity combines with the fruit on entry, quite dry with the tannins showing mid-palate. Medium bodied, nicely fragranced and with an elegance to the fruit. The late palate is settled with teh fruit leading but the acidity showing at the start of the aftertaste. The finish is modest in duration and volume, but nicely flavoured by blackcurrants. Very pleasant port with the structure to be better in 5 years when the acidity is more integrated. 85/100. 29-Aug-17.
