Mature orange/red colour, 20% opaque. Hollow nose with nothing showing. A nice texture, light and gentle flavours on the palate with some good development on the mid-palate, but always light and gentle. Some acidity on the aftertaste and a little heat on the good length finish, which is otherwise full of gentle fruit. Pleasant port, but not in the same class as most ports at this tasting. 85/100. Drunk 19-Dec-17. Decanted 6 hours.
Top Ports in 2018 (so far): Niepoort VV (1960's Bottling), Quinta do Noval Nacional 1994 and San Leonardo Very Old White (Bottled 2018)
2017 Ports of the year: Fonseca 1927 and Quinta do Noval 1927

20% opacity, red-brown with a yellow rim. Rich, sweet nose, ripe strawberries. Smooth and sweet, ripe strawberries, lots of sugary sweetness. Maybe losing some backbone.
