25% opacity, brown-orange, some cloudiness. Nose a little strange, fruit overripe but not sweet, stewed? A bit of a blanket over the bouquet - some oranges in there. Soft entry, a little soft/flabby but then some acidity kicks in late palate. Sweetness and some orangey citrus fruit. Marmalade aftertaste. Being picky, missing some backbone.
Later: nose somewhat meaty! and palate meaty.

Ex-cellars bottle from Quinta do Cachão, courtesy of Miguel Perreira at a tasting organised by Tony Carter of Vintage Wine & Port.

Very slightly hazy, a little more red than the previous three vintages, 40% opaque. Little on the nose but vigorous swirling releases a little redcurrant cordial. A lovely texture and sweet gentle red fruit. A very pleasant mid-palate with lively red fruit. Light and elegant grows in volume on the palate. A little burnt biscuit on the aftertaste and a long finish of instant coffee and esteva. 87/100. Tasted 23-Oct-19. Decanted 7 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
