20% opacity, amber, yellow rim, very clear. Lovely citrus notes, oranges and tobacco. Silky, syrupy, rich mouthfeel. Sweet caramels, great balance, lip-licking syrupy citrus fruit in the finish and aftertaste.

Ex-cellars bottle from Quinta do Cachão, courtesy of Miguel Perreira at a tasting organised by Tony Carter of Vintage Wine & Port.

Very light in colour, a very pale rose red; 10% opaque. Sweet, light and fragrant on the nose. Smooth, sweet and fragrant. Gentle and very light on the palate, but with that lovely fragrance. This build nicely to delivery a big, sweet redcurrant and rose aftertaste with just hints of cigar ash. Sweet, slightly sticky. 86/100. Tasted 23-Oct-19. Decanted 7½ hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
