2011 Cockburn

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Available by the glass from the upstairs tasting room at the Cockburn Lodge. Decanted 30 minutes. Dark red with some brick in the tone and a narrow rim. Rich nose, sweet fruit syrup. Serene entry, smooth with fruit starting to show a little sweet development. Ripe, wonderfully rounded, fruit. Soft edges with tannins still firm and full. The aftertaste of sweet and ripe black cherry and black chocolate lasts through several twists and turns. Maturing very nicely.  91/100. Tasted 15-Oct-22.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
