The '86 Graham's Malvedos is one of the best Ports from the '80's. Not the best, but certainly in the Top 5 IMHO. The '83 & '85 Offley Boa Vista are very solid Ports.

If you like the Ramos Pinto style, all of their ports from the 80's are good to great.

I've drunk a few Ramos Pinto VPs but not enough to identify a house style. What would you say it is?

Can only speak from a personal preference but the Grahams 85 is one of my all time favourites, just beautiful.

Powerful with licorice hints are most common for me.

There are some fantastic VP’s from the ‘80s. Sadly, depending on producer and the specific vintage, there’s a lot of TCA, VA, aguardente quality and bottle variation issues. While I enjoy a lot from this decade, and have bought a good amount, it is a decade that one needs to do much more research on before blindly buying in quantity.

I had an '82 Ramos Pinto a few weeks ago and it was excellent.mosesbotbol wrote: ↑16:49 Fri 24 Feb 2023 If you like the Ramos Pinto style, all of their ports from the 80's are good to great.

That was my latest VP from the 80s and my experience was similar, I enjoyed it very much, it was in great form.
Re: The 1980s & quality
I know 1984 was a bad year for Port, but I must say I rather enjoyed the '84 Graham Malvedos in the 84-92 vertical. A simple strawberry slurper, light but balanced. Not one for the critics perhaps, but I'd wager it would please most laymen. Definitely one to drink up soon.
