Perfect condition bottle from an OWC obtained late 2021.
Cork came out with no fuss. In excellent condition but surprisingly short - maybe 10mm shorter than that from the Musar 2003 opened at the same time.
Double decanted, tasted (but no note made), Vac-U-Vined, tasted at +24hr (again no note made), Vac-U-Vined, and then at +48hr:
Deep colour but with a hint of brown around the rim.
Nicely developed nose, with savoury notes of leather, licorice and bonfire. Not much fruit - maybe some fig?
Nose carries through to the mouth, with similar development. No primary fruit but plenty of rich Christmas cake notes.
Alcohol is overly evident and there's a slightly unwelcome bitterness. Quite long.
Not bad, not great, not one for the long term?
