From 90ml
Inspired by Mike J.W., popped and poured.
Still a deep red, 60% opaque, clear rim. Glossy appearance.
Nose of raisins and dried pressed figs with a subdued nuttiness.
Palate interestingly rancio-dry, as Mike prefigured, panforte, a touch of bitter chocolate, sandalwood, more dried fig, a hint of licorice very late, and cedar pencil.
This is a very attractive port, especially for madeira - lovers, for whom it will be way above the 20YO tawny port chasing pack (i find most of them pretty boring). And, if you don't like how it tastes it would make very good scent.
