NV Kopke White 10YO (bottled 2023)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Kopke 10YO White, bottled 2023. Opened 2 hours.

It’s quite difficult to write a tasting note when you’ve drunk a bottle of Port, but that in itself says something very positive about the wine. Probably the most important thing to note, is that we just kept topping up our glasses.

It’s a well balanced, mid-way between dry and sweet, fruit focused white Port. It’s very easy to drink yet full of flavour and so well balanced by the acidity in the wine. Sweet and concentrated without being cloying.

This is a delicious wine. It’s not cheap in the UK supermarkets, yet is compelling value when Waitrose run their “buy 6 and get 25% off” offer.

92/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
