1994 Rozès LBV

Post by jdaw1 » 15:54 Fri 09 May 2008

1994 Rozès LBV, unfiltered, bottled 1999, decanted 2pm. Bright red colour. Nose? Was there? Some claimed “cheap perfume†. To taste I wrote “soft, round, horrible†. The LBV roughness in the mouth just too strong. Better than the Taylor 2001 LBV and Fonseca 2001 LBV though.

Looks like you've encountered a bad bottle. I had this a couple of years ago and it was lovely. The 1995 is very nice as well.

I found that Rozes produces some very nice (unfiltered) LBVs. There are just a tiny little bit less intesive than the real VPs.

Yes it really is! And it's a shame that I have only 1 bottle left in stock. Mayson qualifies Rozès as "Premier League" for the unfiltered LBVs.
