NV Sainsbury Tawny 10YO

Post by benread »

This is bottled for Sainsbury's by W & J Graham's/ Symington Family Estates. For a 10 year tawny it is really quite pale - verging on dark pink - and does not have the same sweetness associated with some tawny ports. It has a slight nose of caramel and possibly pear drops to taste! The wife likes it - not sure if that is a good or bad thing!

At about £12/bottle this is a bargain.

As an aside, having consumed both the Tesco 10 Year Tawny and this recently, this is a clear preference for me.

Perhaps at some stage we should have an offline theme of BOB bottles of VP / Tawny - possibly against the houses mainstream brand of same year / style for comparison.
