TN written May 2008.I was given a bottle of this some time ago. According to the bottle it has been ‟aged in oak barrels”. A day in the decanter blew of the spirit that was fairly dominant on opening. After that, there was very little of anything on the nose. On the palate, inoffensive and uncomplicated port flavours. Some alcohol on the back of the throat.
After having some pretty bad Rubies recently, I was pleasantly surprised with this. My original intention was to have a go at that hippocras recipe with it, but, in the end, I was quite happy to drink through the whole bottle, straight.
