2007 Niepoort

Post by DRT » 22:21 Sun 21 Jun 2009

Tasted as part of DRT's Review of 2007 Cask Samples

Each of the paragraphs below are separate notes taken completely blind over a period of a few days:

Nothing on the nose. Nice weight with raw fruits, big acidity and massive tannic kick to the finish. WOW!

Sweet cherry nose. Good thick texture with lots of black fruits. High acidity and big ripe tannins. Very dry on the palate but cheeks running. Long finish with a little heat. Very nice, but probably in the second tier from those tasted.

Spicy nose. Nice thick strawberry entry. Good acidity and cherry truffle finish. Quite hot. Good long dry finish.
