1999 Kopke Colheita (bottled 2009)

Cask sample bottled in 2009. Mahogany red, orange rim. Typical colheita nose of slightly funky stewed fruit also showing Bovril and rose hips and a touch of heat. Medium body, quite hot and with some rhubarb showing through a lovely stewed fruitiness. The acidity dominates the afteraste, which ends with burnt orange. Not well balanced. 82/100. Drunk 28 June 2009.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
