1967 Quinta do Noval Nacional vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deeply red in colour, right into the rim. A sweet cherry juice nose with a tiny hint of burnt rubber. Full of sweet, slightly bitter, sloe fruit with some tannins showing in the mouth and a strong and lovely streak of acidity. A big and orange dominated aftertaste, full of cheek-gripping tannins but initially dominated by an alcoholic burn. Lots of life and development ahead of this wine. 92/100. Drunk 29 June 2009.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
