NV Quinta do Vale Dona Maria Reserva Lote No 06

The 2006 production of vintage port was declassified to a ruby reserve (Lote '06). This was bottled unfiltered in 2009 and was blended exclusively from 2006 grapes. Lovely red colour, deep but transparent. A warm nose, full of loganberries. A beautiful texture, full of sweet and ripe fruit, a firm tannic structure and a nicely balanced acidity. Full aftertaste, tannic grip and terrific length. A wonderful port and amazing value at EUR 5.50, ex-cellars. 93/100. Drunk 27 June 2009.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
