NV Dow Trademark Reserve

Post by KillerB »

Bought in as cooking Port, which I now seem to have an abundance of so won't get any more for a while. Came from Sainsubry's who are putting this on at £6.49 then discounted a further 25% to £4.87 - errmmm... pretty good.

Colour is dark but not as dark as the Renown from memory. Nose is cough mixture - Benylin Mucus flavour, which I've been on recently, to be precise. In the mouth quite acidic and lots of cherries, very sweet but with a bite at the back and a drier finish. Actually, a pretty nice ruby. Would not say no to it and might well go with the cheese tasting I'm doing after dinner. I am on my own btw, so this is a quite saddo thing to do.

Overall - a good house ruby.

It went well with the cheeses - Stilton was a bit much but the Isle of Mull and Gruyere went well. It didn't die.
