1985 Martinez
1985 Martinez
First of an OWC of Mz85 yesterday brought by the husband from England. Immediately after decanting, the nose is tart raspberries, tastes of cranberries and a hint of licorice. Hot, and lots of alcohol.
Re: 1985 Martinez
Lovely red, 80% opaque. When I started, at about D+1½h, a hint of roughness, but by D+3h that’s gone. Medium-dry, with red fruit: cranberry, slightly more than medium weight, and good length. Excellent value at £20 a bottle though lugging a case off a broken-down FCC train and up the stairs at Farringdon wasn’t trivial. Eminently quaffable. Would go very well with food steak especially.

Note to self: SCP-DFF not too impressed with Mz85. Take something better on next trip to Paris.
