2003 Quinta do Vale Dona Maria LBV (unfiltered)

Bottled unfiltered.

Deep red and opaque. Nosing of soft red fruit and rose petals. Soft in the mouth with restrained fruit and gentle acidity; tannins are restrained. Pleasant aftertaste of moderate length. Not a special LBV and one to be drunk sooner rather than later. 84/100. Drunk 6 December 2010 with no decanting.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
