1922 Sandeman?
On Thursday 13th December 2012 a subset of the obvious suspects gathered at the Bell, Wendens Ambo CB11 4JY, to taste some treasures.

Deep red in colour, with a very youthful appearance; 90% opaque. Burnt toast on the nose, with lots of floral perfumes and blue fruit. Massive palate, full of sweet and rich fruit - lots of sweet red cherry, really mouthfilling. Fabulous fragrance and elegance - and so youthful. Floral and fruity aftertaste, then a long clover honey finish. Amazing wine. 97/100
Top Ports in 2018 (so far): Niepoort VV (1960's Bottling), Quinta do Noval Nacional 1994 and San Leonardo Very Old White (Bottled 2018)
2017 Ports of the year: Fonseca 1927 and Quinta do Noval 1927

S22. Nose strong burnt charcoal, or incinerated toast. Taste had big red fruits, and blueberry. My WOTN (presumbaly with AHB’s T27 = #12).
